If you are considering going under the knife, you should be under no illusions about the risks involved. Even the most minor of operations can have complications or have things go wrong. Even in countries with strong regulation, there are cases of incompetent doctors being struck off after botching cosmetic surgery procedures and so if problems happen abroad in a country where English is not widely spoken, your cosmetic surgery experience could rapidly turn into a nightmare.

A cosmetic surgeon has found the recipe for perfect breasts. Patrick Mallucci has spent hours poring over photos of topless models in magazines and tabloid newspapers and believes he has come up with a theory for perfect breasts.
According to Mallucci, the perfect breast has a nipple that is tilted slightly upwards, and the breast should have a slightly smaller upper half than the bottom half – an example of an excellent pair of breasts is model Caprice, with Victoria Beckham being an example of a poor pair of breasts, views which he claims are also held by many of his clients.

Cosmetic surgery – it’s every man’s dream. According to new research, British men who live couch-potato lives, shunning exercise and binging on junk food, still believe that they can get into shape, albeit with the help of cosmetic surgery.
Almost half of British men are said to take no regular exercise, and regularly eat junk food. However, a quarter of men have said that they would definitely consider going under the knife in order to improve their looks or physique.

Having recently shut down a talent show it deemed ‘coarse’, the Chinese Government has said that it is now banning TV shows about cosmetic surgery and sex changes.
The government has issued an order banning “shows about cosmetic surgery and sex changes that involve public participation.” The order singles out a show called ‘A New Date with Beauty’, a show which broadcasts live cosmetic surgery including sex changes, breast implant surgery and liposuction. According to the order, the shows were explicit and cheap in tone.

Radical obesity treatments with lasting weight loss has been found to improve life expectancy according to new research.
The first long-term studies of radical obesity treatments such as stomach stapling has shown that not only are they likely to lead to lasting weight-loss, they also dramatically improve survival.

It appears that the post-World War II generation are shunning cosmetic surgery in favour of growing old naturally and gracefully, realizing that life should be lived to the full. Dieting is no longer in, and neither are bulging muscles and bodies honed to perfection.

A recent survey has shown that young Australians are more cautious than their American counterparts when it comes to cosmetic surgery. The research looked at students at the University of Melbourne. The results showed that whilst most were familiar with a huge range of cosmetic surgery procedures, just 1% had actually taken the plunge and had some cosmetic work done.
