One of the biggest giveaways of a woman’s age is her hands. The backs of the hands have quite delicate, thin skin that is prone to a veiny appearance with crepe-like wrinkles and it is the prevalence of these that can lead people to guessing your age, no matter how youthful your figure and face.
When you ask people to name the tell-tale parts of the body to look at when determining a lady’s age, most people will point to the woman’s hands and neck. However the earlobes are also another sign of a person’s true age.
Just as with any other part of the body, the earlobe will go through the natural ageing process. The earlobe is also constantly exposed to the sun and there are few people who will remember to apply sunscreen to their ears when applying it to the rest of their body!
Hydrelle is the latest dermal filler to be released into the aesthetics market. Hydrelle, developed by Anika Therapeutics, is a hyaluronic acid which can be used to treat facial wrinkles.
The makers of Hydrelle claim that the dermal filler injection is around half the size of a typcial filler injection. This means that fewer injections will be needed around a wrinkle site. Hydrelle is also the first dermal filler that combines hyaluronic acid with lidocaine anaesthetic meaning the injections are made less painful and the overall procedure is more comfortable for the patient.
Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has admitted to using Botox. Ramsay claims that he decided to have Botox injections because of a comment made by music mogul Simon Cowell. Unfortunately, Ramsay believes that no-one noticed that he had had the Botox injections.
“Yeah, it’s Simon’s fault,” Ramsay explained in an interview with British newspaper The Daily Mail. “I had lunch with him and he leaned over and started prodding my chin saying, ‘Mate, you’ve got to do something about this’. I was like, ‘F*** off!’
Facial fillers are becoming increasingly popular and patients now have a wide range of facial fillers to choose from. Dermal fillers are popular because they are a way of ironing out wrinkles in the face including crows feet and between the brows, as well as helping plump out the lips, taking years off the face, all without the need for surgery and enabling patients to have the cosmetic treatment in their lunch break.
There’s a new cosmetic surgery trend in town. Dubbed ‘pillow face’, gone is the stretched look of Botox and in it’s place is a smooth, plumped up face.
Many celebrities have realised that Botox alone can often lead to a false, stretched look which isn’t always particularly pleasant. To help soften the face dermal fillers are now all the rage to help plump out the face.
The FDA have approved Dysport for the US aesthetic market. Dysport is similar to Botox in that it is derived from the botulinium toxin. However it is claimed that Dysport is superior to Botox in that it acts more quickly to reduce and remove wrinkles and the toxin does not spread to other parts of the body other than the injection side, minimising risk.
