Anti-Cellulite Pants

Cellulite-beating pants have gone in sale in Britain today in top department store John Lewis. The Scala Bio-Fir knickers are said to help reduce the look of dimpled skin that is associated with cellulite.

The store tested the underwear on 50 volunteers who wore the pants for at least 6 hours over 30 days. Eighty percent of those in the trial said that the pants reduced their cellulite.

The technology works by having crystals in the fabric of the pants. These crystals emit infrared rays when they come into contact with the skin. These rays heat up the skin and this heating effect is said to increase the metabolism of the cells, causing increased blood flow to the skin. The fat layers underneath the skin melt into a liquid and this liquid is naturally removed by the body.

The makers claim that there is no shelf-life for the product and that the anti-cellulite technology will remain intact through many washes and is anticipated to last as long as the actual fabric does.

Love the thought of these anti-cellulite knickers but am a bit sceptical over whether they really work or not. Has anyone tried them yet, and does anyone know what size they go up to?

I bought a pair called LipoContour Body after seeing them on This Morning , they are fantastic but were a bit uncofortable to start with.

These John Lewis ones sound painful with heating and melting fat!

I’ve just bought a pair and trying them for the first time today. Jen, they’re not at all uncomfortable. They just feel like a pair of control pants except these don’t ‘cut in’ painfully to the body as I have found with some control pants.
Sue, I think they are just in sizes small, medium and large. I am normally a size 8/10 and the small fit perfectly. So I would guess the medium would be good for 12/14 and large good for 16/18.
    Hope this helps!

Just bought the Scala Bio-Fir pants and wore them for the first time today….ultra comfortable I have to say. They don’t constrict or cut in at all like other ‘control’ pants I’ve worn. Not too sure about the effect on my cellulite as yet…haven’t checked…but I’ll keep wearing them even if just for the comfort factor!!! Love them and will definately be buying more!!
