Pharrell Williams, rapper and hip hop producer, is trying out a revolutionary new way to remove tattoos. The new technique has been developed by the Wake Forest Institute in North Carolina for Regenerative Skin Treatment and is said to be a good alternative to current tattoo removal plans.

The patient first needs to give up a sample of skin. A laboratory then grows the skin until it is large enough to cover the tattoo area. Once the skin graft is large enough, the new skin is stitched over the tattoo area, hopefully leaving behind no scars. Once the skin graft area has fully healed, new tattoos can be done on it.

Overall, the procedure is said to be a lot less painful and a lot quicker than most current conventional tattoo removal techniques, although it is thought to be a lot more expensive.
