According to some surgeons, when it comes to improving the look of your skin, nothing can compare to Botox.

Kevin Hancock, honorary secretary of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), most of the anti-aging creams currently on the market are expensive moisturisers and nothing more.

“Nothing that you can buy in a cream in the high street is going to have the effect that Botox will,” Hancock explained. “Although is it not as cheap as some creams, I think Botox is an incredibly effective treatment. In terms of patients’ satisfaction, I would struggle to think of somebody who hasn’t been happy with their Botox treatment.”

It can be easy to be fooled by the clever advertising on TV and in magazines however there is little evidence that a lot of the creams make significant improvements to the skin. Two of the biggest factors that affect skin tone as we age are smoking and sun exposure therefore it is important to always wear sun screen when going out into the sun.
